Yau Man's stay in Edmonton was short and tightly-scheduled. He arrived in Edmonton on the evening of Thursday, October 18, 2007 and headed directly to his hotel to have a good night's rest before a busy schedule ahead of him with reporters and sponsors.
During his talk, Yau Man had showed and explained clips from Survivor Fiji. His sense of humor and his enthusiasm lightened the crowd. Those who were not initially his fans became ones by the end of the session. According to Jeff Probst, host of the Survivor series, Yau Man is one of the all-time favourites on the show. He was extremely popular with the Survivor audience because of his wisdom, principles, integrity and authenticity. That was also the reason he received a standing ovation from the audience at the end of his speeches. Yau Man has donated his time and money to many charitable organizations. As a testimonial to his popularity, many Yau Man websites and even Yau Man fan clubs on Facebook exist. The Edmonton Chinese Lions Club (ECLC) would like to thank all the volunteers from YESS and Omega Achievers Leos club, and ECLC. Without volunteers, this event will not have been this successful! ECLC would also like to thank all sponsors and attendees for their support. View Edmonton Journal article |
